If this is something new to you, you need to read this! More and more companies are going circular and even charities are getting on board. According to Green Growth Knowledge Platform the …’central aim is to extend the life of all the goods and materials being bought, sold, used and discarded daily, throughout our societies, in order to curb extraction, pollution and waste. As such, it has come to be seen as a vital tool in the fight against environmental crises such as climate change, biodiversity loss, resource scarcity and pollution.’
Getting business to go circular
The Ellen MacArthur foundation, that was launched in 2010, was set up to help speed up the transition to a circular economy and defines it as such:
“A circular economy is a systemic approach to economic development designed to benefit businesses, society, and the environment. In contrast to the ‘take-make-waste’ linear model, a circular economy is regenerative by design and aims to gradually decouple growth from the consumption of finite resources.”
Simply put – keeping resources in play.
One such company is Just One Ocean. Their products are now ‘CIRCULAR’. They have always been a company using organic material for their clothing and bag range. They make them in a factory using renewable energy and now they have created a way for products to be returned to the manufacturer once finished with, to be recycled, again and again.
Being part of the solution.
Just One Ocean, going circular and helping to fight plastic in our oceans
Just One Ocean was founded by David Jones in 2014. Having travelled the world as a diver and an underwater photographer, David saw for himself the devastation that the human race was having on our environment and our oceans in particular. Just One Ocean has an amazing online store and you can buy from them at BOON Gives. Let’s support more charities like this that are giving our planet and those that live here hope of a better future.
